2.      Where can I purchase a Weather Direct® device?

Weather Direct® expansion options that offer enhanced features and services to the wireless display are also available at www.weatherdirect.com . Weather Direct® models are available from major retailers, specialty stores and select catalogues with MSRPs from $49.95 to $149.95, depending upon features.

 

3.      Do I have to connect my Weather Direct® Display Unit to a computer?

No. Weather Direct™ devices receive weather data, wirelessly, via the Weather Gateway connected to your network router.

 

4.      How do I register my Weather Direct® device?

Registration of your device is easy. Complete instructions and guidance for set up of your Weather Direct display can be found at www.weatherdirect.com.

 

5.      How can I become a Weather Club® Contributor?

To become a Weather Club Contributor, begin by clicking on “red dot” at the top at the top of the page, just to the right of the statement, “Become a Contributor!” The hot link will take you to the appropriate page on the Weather Direct web site and guide you through the process.

 

6.      How do I get my “Member Data” pin on the weather map?

To place your “Member Data” pin on the weather map, follow the instructions found in the answer to question 6, above.

 

7.      What are “Droplets” and how do I create them?

Droplets are containers for information that interests you. You can create a droplet that displays an RSS feed, weather maps, or weather club exclusive content. To create a droplet, click the ‘Add Droplets’ tab under the weather club logo in the upper left of the page. You can either select from a set of existing links, or add any RSS feed you would like to subscribe to.

 

8.      What is an RSS feed?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.

 

9.      How do I add my local radar image?

Your local radar image is available as a droplet, and can be added on the ‘Add Droplets’ screen. On the ‘Add Droplets’ screen, go to the Local Map Droplets section and enter in your postal code in the box labeled ‘Postal Code. Then you can select which ever local maps, including current radar, you want to add to your page.

 

10.    Can I change the appearance of my page?

There are 6 themes you can select from to determine the appearance of your page:

                                       i.    Spring

                                      ii.    Summer

                                     iii.    Fall

                                     iv.    Winter

                                      v.    Starry Night

                                     vi.    Citrus Summer

You can set the site to automatically set the site to change according to the season, or you can simply select the appearance that you prefer.

 

11.    Where can I find my local forecast?

The local forecast is available on the weather link at the top of the page. Once the weather page comes up, you can select the Local Forecast button at the top of the weather section.

 

12.    Where can I see other member’s stations?

Click on the weather link at the top of the page, and then click the weather map link at the top of the weather section.
